Portege R600 is Toshiba’s latest laptop and it is based on R500’s platform. Though it is only 0,77-inches thin, R600 features a built-in DVD burner.
It’s Led backlit display enhances the contrast and improves the angle-viewing. The Toshiba R600 also features a 128GB SSD and USB Sleep-and-Charge / eSATA combo port, which, by the way, is five time faster than USB 2.0. As a bonus, R600 weights only 2.4-pounds making it very easy to carry. Oh, I almost forgot, the laptop was priced at $2,099.
The 12.1-inch, 1280x800 Portégé R600 has been lightened further still versus the R500 and now weighs just 2.14lbs, with Toshiba claiming it is the world‘s thinnest and lightest notebook. It uses Intel’s 1.2GHz ultra-low voltage Core 2 Duo to help it achieve a maximum battery life of nine hours. In includes a 160GB hard drive pre-loaded with Windows Vista Business and 2GB of memory that is upgradeable to 5GB.
